The MACHINE keeps turning

Hey i just got back from Barcelona and road fools. Barcelona was amazing we stayed in this condo right next to the beach. There are so many good spots so close to each other i couldn't believe it. We found pretty much the only bike shop in town and they had volume and demolition stuff so that was kinda cool. our tour guide had kind of a temper when it came to people kicking us out of spots. Well we only got kicked out of one spot the whole time. so we were riding this spot on the bridge and this police man stops on the road below gets out of his car and is yelling at us to leave or he was going to take our bikes. Our tour guide gets pissed that the cop was kicking us out starts yelling back at the cop and tried grabbing this brick out of the planter box to throw at the cop it was pretty intense. Road Fools was just as fun the crew was awesome. We started in Phoenix stayed there for like a week since there was so much to ride. It was 100 degrees the majority of the time so there was a lot of night sessions. Then we went down to Tucson for a day rode some pretty good ditches and this cougar permission pool. We got there kinda late and they had it all lit up for us. It was weird having like 15 dudes all at a pool session that doesn't happen often. We ended up in San Diego we had to do a demo at the levi's store that was pretty fun. Well that's about it for now.

Sounds like Heaton is having quite the adventure in Africa already, here's his first email since he's been there. Also dosen't look like the building supplies over there are anything like were use to seeing over here, just look at the 2x4's for proof

Heres my little story...
So i was about a block and a half from the hotel, after spending all day in the shadiest of shady markets, in the taxi. About 5 guys have this make shift secutity post with a bamboo stick set across 2, 45 gallon drums and the cabby honked a few times to let us through and they didnt like that......they were insisting on seeing his taxi light which was in the trunk and all the while they were yelling back and forth....while i was in the back, and the cabby arguing with about 4 dudes, one of them pulls out a gun and shoots one off in the air and starts chasing the cabby! While he was being slapped in the face by the others...i was frozen! i didnt know what to do...but they never even looked or talked to me, they were just pissed that this taxi driver was being dis respectful...so they cabby didnt get killed and within 4 minutes the guys and the cabby were being nice and polite to each other!!!! When he got back in the car and proceeded through the gate, they gave each other a polite wave!!!! What the fuck. i asked him if he was ok and he said " ya no problem, these are stupid fuckin people" and that was it....other than that, everyone i saw and met today were soooo nice to be and waving at the "white man"... im seriously impressed with how awesome they are here' incident aside of course..
so thats my first day here...pretty nuts to say the least.

First update from Nate. Says he's in England and putting the transit system to good use. He says it's been real cold, I guess he's been in Cali too long too remember that February=winter in almost every part of the world. He's off to Leeds for the weekend to hit up some contest. He seems to be pretty psyched on to get out of the crazy rat race, that is L.A.

Heaton is in Africa for the next month doing shows and promoting the use of bikes in different ways. Since he got back from his Cali trip, he spent most of his time before shoveling mass amounts of snow that have been dumped on T.O. this winter. He also told me he had been shredding the St.Thomas indoor a whole bunch and also recovering from all the shots he had to get in preparation for Africa. Expect some good photo's from his journey soon.

This pic is of Brian clawing his way through the pack to finish his first 10k race. I guess this is what you got to do to stay trim when In N Out is your main staple sustenance.

Brian Castillo: Working way too much on new products and not enough time riding. Expect to see an all new Ryan 'Biz' Jordan frame, Rob Wise frame / Bars, E-Man Grip, Enns Grip, all new Sledgehammer and a slew of other stuff. Hopefully by the time you guys read this the new Volume site will be up and running? I also just got back from Las Vegas shooting and riding with Rob Wise.

With all the rain that So.Cal has been seeing, BIZ says he's just been trying to maintain the trails as much as possible. That's when he's not out getting clips for his upcoming Vital edit. That should be done the same time his Ride UK interview drops in about a month and a half.

Eman just got back from a quick trip to Vegas to get some clips and photos. He said they hit up some real good spots and really good parks, but he's happy to be back in the loving arms of East LA. Also if you wanna set your bike up just like E, you can get a copy of the new BMX PLUS!, where he's got a bike check in the new issue

Skinny's been trying to keep warm from the deep freeze in New York by dreaming' of the sunny So. Cal weather. He'll be riding in on the upcoming Volume trip in march. Till then he'll be busy moving from his pad in Queens to his old stomping grounds of Brooklyn.

As for me (Jason), I've been enjoying the t-shirt weather here in Van right now, finally been able to start riding consistently again after a long wet winter. You know Spring is in the air when you get to dust off and install the 24"s, see you later winter truck, hello summer whip!

Rob Wise just got back from his trip the Vegas with Brian and Eman where I heard he got some amazing footage. Rob's been busy working on the design for his new signature frame, big bars as well as a signature Demolition grip. Also has been getting tutored by Eman on many exotic animals.

i know most of the country looks like the photo above right now, so we thought we'd give you an update on the team to kill a few more minutes of your winter.

John Heaton has had enough of plowing the white stuff in T.O and is off to cali to finish up filming for an upcoming web edit and also head out on a primo trip to San Fransisco after that. If any of you see him, dont mention the state of the MapleLeafs, he's pretty sensitive about that at the moment.

Eman says he's been chillin and holdin it down at nine star, helping out random celebrity's like Paris Hilton pick out the latest fashions. He's been shooting a bunch of pictures and also starting to get footage for his upcoming web edit.Check him out in the new photo issue of RideBmx, with 2 spreads.

Biz has been real busy, he's finished up his Ride UK interview as well as his volume web edit , which should be up on the site any day.i know he's been counting the days till the super bowl to see if the patriots can be the first team to pull off the perfect season. If they do, could mean good things for the trails.Biz also recently celebrated his 27 birthday, congrats biz

Skinny's been in NewYork freezing his ass off like most everybody else this time of year.To keep himself busy thru the winter he's making sure all the business's across the country are well stocked with all the office supplies you could imagine. He's also looking forward to the up coming volume trip in march to the Bay area.

Nate Morashan will be spending the next week or 2 with Heaton, hittin up all the good LA spots. That's if the rain will hold off long enough and Nate's VW will dry out and decided to start. Nate got some real good footage logged for a volume web edit that should hit the net in the near future.

I (jason) just got back to Canada after 2 weeks in the sun down in cali.Had a blast getting footy for the team edit for the site. Also shot some photo's with BMX PLUS! for an upcoming issue. Not much else to do up here except stay warm and cheer on the best team in the NHL right now,the CANUCKS,

Brian is crazy busy , as always. With having a few team members in town, shooting with them, unloading containers, new product design, and his new facebook account.Even with all that going on , he still found some time to log a couple clips for the volume team edit.
